The staff at the front desk were lovely and very nice, so upon arrival it felt like a very nice place to check in. The room itself was also fantastic! It was very clean and tea, coffee and sugar packs were also provided, along with a kettle and a small bar fridge (inside a cabinet) with some milk, which was an a great addition. The bathroom was also very clean and came with soaps and conditioners. What I appreciated the most was the very hot shower! It was so nice to jump into the shower to have a really hot shower after walking around the CBD all day, especially after getting wet in the rain. The provided TV was also great as it allowed me to screencast my phone and watch YouTube and Kick on the TV. The view was nice too, although limited due to being located at the side of the hotel. Highly recommended hotel! I will be back here again in the future even though I live in Melbourne South Eastern suburbs; it was just good to get away and not have to worry about going home with busy traffic after a long day in the city. Again, 10/10!

Since we are sensitive sleepers, I originally booked a twin room with beds that can usually be pushed together. However, instead, we were given a room with a queen bed. When I asked reception (and then management) for a twin bed room, they gave us the option of either adding in a complementary spare bed for the duration of our stay, or, a room with twin beds from the following night onwards (as they were booked out of twins on the first evening), but staying where we were the first night, with the option to add a spare bed. The spare bed, however, ended up being so comfortable that we decided to stay where we were. The staff even offered us a free breakfast the following morning as the booking error was their mistake. Anyway, this level of service made me feel very positive about staying at Hotel Grand Chancellor and quickly turned around a potentially bad start to the trip! Also, upon leaving, we accidentally left a shirt in the cupboard, and for a smallish postage fee, the staff posted it back to us!

My room was quite large and looked to be freshly redecorated. It was well appointed with a desk and chair and there were also two armchairs a casual side table. There were good block out curtains on the windows as well as sheers which helped make the room feel cosy and comfortable. There was a small private balcony off the room and although it was nice to have the door open and enjoy the fresh air, the balcony lacked visual appeal. It had a very large aircon unit sitting on it and the balcony floor was dirty and needed a fresh coat of paint. The bathroom looked new and was very functional. Overall it was a nicely appointed room that felt good to spend time in. The buffet breakfast was good value and there was lots to choose from. I also had dinner in the hotline night and it was also good value and very tasty. The location was excellent and very central. Close to China town and the Theatres.

Grand Chancellor Melbourne: Perfect Location & Impeccable Service The Grand Chancellor Hotel in Melbourne has an unbeatable location! It's a short walk to Chinatown, theatres, the Greek Quarter, shopping, and those charming Melbourne laneways. I loved being close to the action but still having a quiet room for a good night's sleep. What made my week-long stay truly special was the impeccable service. Every staff member, from the concierge to the cleaning team, was discreet, and attentive, and genuinely made me feel at home. They anticipated my needs before I even had to ask – my room was always immaculately cleaned and stocked with everything I needed. I stayed in a Superior Queen Room, which was spacious, comfortable, and had a lovely balcony. Highly recommend the Grand Chancellor Melbourne for a luxurious and convenient stay.

I travelled with my daughter for the Billie Ellish concert. Staff were very friendly and we received an upgraded room on arrival. We walked around the inner city with no issue and were close to everything including great breakfast places. Didn't eat in the restaurant, however got room service which was great. The only downside was the shower in our room, as it didn't have curtain, water would spray all over the floor in large puddles, hopefully they will fix this as honestly that was the only issue we had. Already planning another trip and will stay again!
